Macros (short for macronutrients) are the three necessary macronutrients: protein, carbs, and fat. These three components are what makeup food, help create energy, feed the muscles, and more. Information on the amount of each macro a food contains can be found on nutrition labels.
When you count macros and adjust their ratios, you can use them to achieve health goals like losing weight, gaining muscle, or maintaining weight. It takes a special formula to figure out your ideal macro breakdown.
